BC. Good luck Tuesday! You asked who do you want representing you in your district. Well, I would really hope people look at how much time they spend away from their families trying to make money to support the crooked wheels of Derry and vote accordingly.
Someone who has the guts to speak out about waste at the council meetings and vote against the current spend happies.
We have the largest, most elaborate, and costly high school in the northeast. Look at the budget to run that school. Now look where the graduates work in Derry. They don't!
We school them to work in Massachusetts where they give up 5 grand a year into MASSACHUSETTS tax system. They could stay here and work at the Super Walmart or our many wonderful drug stores for 8 bucks an hr. Take home pay around a grand a month. Now lets see, thats what most taxpayers pay to the town of Derry every yr. No wonder our kids move away. They can't afford to live here.
Brian, its time to stop the shopping mall mentality of all depts. in Derry. If the dept. heads want to sell fire stations, start fire/radio stations, sign sweet ordinances,or 60k jobs for DEDC, SOMEONE needs to step-up to the plate with a bat if they have to and say NO.
Lets pass an ordinance that reads.
If you work for the town you must live in town. You cannot drive back and forth from another state or town. Period. CONNETTICUT and AUBURN NH. included.
If you get caught spending the towns money like the ones that got caught, your fired and no pension, its forfeited to the state.
And lastly, if your in charge of giving out the proper permits, make darn sure the fire stations you sell to firemans parents get permits too!{so they don't have to spend so much money on lawyers}."No wonder the food is pricey".
MAYBE THATS WHAT WE NEED TO BUILD AT PINKERTON ,A COURTROOM to teach law. There's plenty of work in town for them guys, and at 150.00 an hr. and they can swing the taxes!!! GOOD LUCK BC. YOU DA MAN!!!!
Wh3,
Just an FYI. Town council would only be dealing with town issues and not any school issues, state or county issues pertaining to taxes. Of the 22.15/1000 of taxes we pay- town side only is 7.50. Having said that. I agree that we must be vigilant against waste. We must also look at keeping expenses down where critical services are not effected.
The towns budget is made up of 80% personnel- Police, Fire, Public Works and Town services. I will pledge to look at how we can save $$ without disrupting critical services.
