I gave the Council a B-.
The time and effort that was put in to go through the budget was significant and in the big picture almost all decisions were the right ones. Of course, it's the wrong ones that get the headlines.
Mr. Bulkley - "A-" - is doing a fine job keeping things on the lighter side and keeping focus on the town's agenda.
Mr. Chirichiello - "A-" - as non-chairman is now in the position of offering great input and asking great questions and is leading the fight to save $80K
Ms. Ferrante - "B+" - Although we dont hear from her as much, her input is almost always constructive and non-confrontational.
Mr. Metts - "A-" I haven't agreed with every vote he has cast, but don't you get the feeling that he's only interested in what's best for Derry.
Mr. Carney - "C-" - Has had some solid moments, but the latest Town Attorney fiasco is a sad reminder that Mr. Coyle can tug his leash at any moment.
Mrs. Fairbanks - "F" - A tried and true Coyle mercenary who has had numerous less-than-stella moments. I apologize to all those who have ever received an "F".
Mr. Coyle - "D" - because I'm feeling generous...assuming the role of Town Attorney on a few occassions...questions at the sub-com interviews...the latest lawyer fiasco...leaking senstive info...meeting with Police Union head supposedly about moral...running to Cortney Paquette for the automatically granted headline...etc...etc.
Mr. Moody - "A+" - the guy had just retired from an equally demanding job for the schools in which, yes, he was well paid - at that time he said - I don't want the money anymore, other things in my life are more important.
Then he pulled himself away from what he wanted and what he chose stepping in to fill the gap, doing an excellent job.
