Doug, You seem disinterested at the Charter meetings. When asked questions, you say that you do not remember...etc.
Is being a member not what you expected? Because you sure look like you want to be elsewhere.

I think that there is a total lack of leadership in town. Yes there is difficulty in that Derry is and has been so polarized and factionalized. But once the ADT and its brethren demonized the DEDC and pilloried Jack Dowd, no one has stepped into the vacuum. Can’t blame Mett’s but he is just the guy with his finger in the dyke.

Coyle. Newell, Fairbanks et al are transparently self-serving and lack the skills to pull together a consortium around a common purpose. They lead with their emotions on the sleeve and can be needlessly nasty when they are disagreed with. The Charter Commission was an attempt to have Coyle be Mayor. Once defeated in the Charter Commission, Coyle and his kingly agenda, sits stone-faced, pouting worse than Hopftgarten anti-poker face ever did. Kevins wish was not Derry’s way. He is now reduced to being Dr. NO on everything the ADT disagrees with (or does the ADT disagree with something because Coyle does?) This is what happens when you surround yourself with “flying monkeys” like Fairbanks and Newell, Kevin.

So where is leadership? Who in town has the ability, the vision and has not previously “peed” on his or her own leg in our decades long debate between the have-nots and the clueless.

As someone wrote on another thread: The largest infrastructure project in 40 years is upon us. Unfortunately we can’t organize ourselves to stop throwing mud at each other.

Brian,
Can you comment on the Tom Cardon letter in the Derry News last night. I was willing to see how this developed but if Tom is correct in his information this 'fish is rotting from the head'

Sure I will comment. Tom Cardon who thinks he knows everything about Exit 4A knows nothing about 4A. He and some of his vocal group like to throw out what he wants people to believe to the media and create propaganda. Tom says to him it does not make sense...Im agree with him. He doesnt know what he is talking about. Remember he and his group said that 4A will NEVER happen. Two kind of people in the world.. Optimists and Pessimists..

BC- your reply is nothing more than the usual empty personal attack. The whitness is directed to answer the questions:

1. Is Boston North a currently registered corporation in New Hampshire?

2. If your answer to #1 is "YES", why doesn't the Secretary of State show this on its records? If the answer is "NO", how can Derry have financial obligations to a non-existant entity?

3. What obligations do you believe Derry has? To whom? To spend how much money? Paying whom? During what time frame? For what goods or services?

4. Please tell the jury upon which legal opinion(s) you base your answers to questions #1 and #2? If the four councilors do not have a legal opinion, have any of you legal training specifically in the specialty of implied contracts? If you have legal opinions where they provided by a firm with prior connections to the case? (e.g. having sued Londonderry?)

5. What do you know about events leading up to Shea_Porter's request for $104MM for Exit 4A? Will you disclose who asked her to do that? Specifically Why does a leftist Congresswoman bail out a bunch of local yokel Republican businessmen?

6. How was the number of $104 million arrived at? Mr. Benson does not seem to believe the $40 million estimate. Do you or any of the councilors believe that it will cost $104 million?

7. Do you believe that spending $104 million on 4A is a good idea for America? Is raping America to get your local deals done patriotic?

8.If you refuse to answer these questions please explain why you should not be held in contempt.

Good questions. BC would you care to share your answers with the good people of Derry? If not, why not?

BC, glad to have development along Tsiennetto. Quick question about the Overlook Wellness Center: how come they put the ugly generator in fron of the building? There is plenty of land in the rear. Poor planning.

All toys will go directly to the children of Derry.

Brian, Tom's letter is actually not that far off. According to a quote in paper by Mr. Metts it is basically the same players involved in the new company as the old one. And it looks like they are hiring some big gun lawyers. So please tell us where Mr. Cardon is so far off the mark.

I think most people in town are worried about spending taxpayer money and getting stuck with a larger bill later on to build this exit. I'm not sure even those vocal opponents would be as against the new Exit if someone could prove to them that it is in fact going to be paid for with Federal Highway money or private money. Townspeople just don't want to get stuck with the bill.

You are usually the one crying about spending taxpayer money. Now other folks point out what they feel is irresponsible and wasteful spending and you attack them. Why not answer the questions asked above and state where the money will come from for the Exit since you supposedly have all the answers and everyone else "doesn't know what they are talking about". Make your case with facts, numbers, sources, timeframes.

Stop the attack politics and stop hiding behind the BS that you know oh so much more than the rest of uneducated masses, but can't share that info with the people who elected you because you were sworn to secrecy by a representative of a company that has a direct interest in having you vote to spend the townspeople's money. As Tom indicated - that indeed smells rotten.

Exit 4A may indeed be a good thing for the town, but only if we the taxpayers aren't stuck paying the majority of the bill for it. So start talking about the facts and prove that the funding is coming from other sources.

BC - when those questions go unanswered we will know it's you.

You seem to believe the public doesn't have the right to know what's going on.

Please run again. We need the amusement.

BC... Chatting with a friend last night and your name came up. We have a bet going on when you will answer these questions for the public. Based upon your distain for the voters, I bet never. Will you admit that you refuse to answer them so that I can collect my bet? Thanks. Much appreciated.

Brian, I believe it would be a good idea to bring your blog to a Facebook group. That way people could make comments that would post immediately, but they would have to become a fan and be identified to be able to post. Just my two cents.

What's the matter Brian, don't got the guts to answer some simple questions? Looks like you don't know more than that Tom guy you like to bash? Good thing your term as councilor is ending soon so we won't have to put up with your BS much longer. And when you are gone, this blog and your blind mouthy leaders/followers will disappear just like you. You claim to know more than the rest, but you are nothing but a blowhard stroking his own ego.

Since Brian doesn't have a clue how to answer the questions, let me help answer them for him.

#1 I met with the people from Boston North. Oh, they are real. If you don't believe me they will sue us if we don't spend 5 million dollars.
#2 The Secretary of State may not know who they are but I do. I met with them, they are real. And if we don't spend 5 million dollars they will sue us.
#3 Well that's a loaded question. I haven't been told how to answer that one yet so I'll just stay quite. But I do know that if we don't spend 5 million dollars they will sue us.
#4 I don't know of any legal opinions, but I was told by the towns' attorney I could meet with Boston North and Boston North told me that if we don't spend 5 million dollars we will be sued. They scared me. I can't think for myself, I just do what I'm told.
#5 I don't know who asked Shea-Porter to step into this issue and I don't know where that $104,000,000 figure came from. Ask Mr. Benson, he said this won't cost more than 5 million dollars. All I know is that if we don't give 5 million dollars we will be sued.
#6 Again, you have to ask someone else. I haven't been told how to answer. I only know about the 5 million dollars or be sued. Mr. Benson is the one who questioned the "made up amount" of 40 million dollars.
# 7 What do I care about the American government spending tax money. If they want to give it to us then it's ok by me. If all we have to pay is 5 million dollars, who cares where the rest comes from. Anyway, it's not going to cost that much, Mr. Benson says so.
#8 Now that I have answered your questions, get off my back. I know more about this exit 4A than anybody. I met with the people in charge and know that if we don't spend 5 million dollars we will be sued.

Furthermore, if you continue to harass me about this exit 4A, I will have my anonymous friends degrade and insult anyone who disagrees with me. I know more than you because I was told I do.

7:31 It's been 3 weeks with no answer; I think you can declare that you have won the bet.

He's a great example of Derry politicans, allows crude and vicious remarks on his blog but when asked civil and reasonable questions from a Derry voter... no answer.

anon 1:24,
Your too funny!

BC said...

#1) Boston North is now under a different name registered with the State. Same players involved just new name.

#2) See answer #1

#3)Back in the Early 80's Two of Three former Mayors and Boards of Selectman have supported AND committed Derry to $5million dollars to build exit 4A. There are file cabinets full of documents that state all of this in black and white.. Why the town does not have these same documnets? Politics. You will have to go back into time to find the anti 4A people for with what they did, costs the taxpayers dearly!
4) Sorry cant go into legal opinions as the were and have not been released to the public.
5)I have no idea where that came from, or who asked for that earmark. That was a total surprise to me.
6)Again not sure where that 104 million has come from but estimates from CLD and both towns have the estimated project at 40M.
7)Ok clearly you are not asking a question but making a statement here
8)There you go, I answered your questions.

Anonymous said...

Whoa... Let me get this straight.

You just said "Why the town does not have these same documnets? Politics. You will have to go back into time to find the anti 4A people for with what they did, costs the taxpayers dearly!"

BC Are You accusing the opponents of Exit 4A of theft?!!!

If so, your proof or your resignation.

Anonymous said...

BC I have only studied a little bit of law and I suspect you have studied less. When you say:

"#1) Boston North is now under a different name registered with the State. Same players involved just new name."

I don't think that is the way it works. When the same people start a new corporation it doesn't necessarily have the same legal rights as an old one, especially if there are many years separating the dissolution of one and the incorporation of the other. Untangling this mess is a job for the courts not 4 characters playing Perry Mason.

Regarding #5, You might ask Jack or Bob.

No, I wasn't just making a statement on #7, I was asking why some taxpayer... say a coal miner in KY busting their butt and slowly killing themselves to earn a living and raise their kids should be paying part of $104MM for a exit that can't possibly generate that much benefit for the town. Do you believe there are any ethical issues here that we should be discussing in this blog? How many sucking parasites will it take to bleed the country to death?

The Police at Grandview Fleamarket imped traffic only to cater to the fleamarket customers.
I have waited on Island Pond Rd while I watched police let cars come out of the flea market exclusively and have missed 3 green light cycles.
It wasn't until I leaned on my horn that our line of cars got attention.
This continues to happen each week as I live on that road and forced to take it to get to town.

Why can't the police cater to Derry's citizens instead of the out of towners?

Is it something to do with who is paying them for their detail?

The PD is there to get traffic in and out of the flea market. That's their detail description. You're not forced to go through that intersection to get downtown. You can go cemetary to humphrey or cemetary to East Derry Rd. and achieve the same thing faster on Saturdays.

Hey Grandview,
Must be wonderful to have nothing else in life to complain about except for traffic.
Note to self: On Saturday morning drive the other way.
It is a business, demented and sad with all the Chinese from NY, but a business none the less.
You remind me of someone that buys a house near an airport and then complains about the noise.

I have been here long before Grandview was.
It is not possible for me to take another route.

Yup, its a business however if illegal items are being sold there and out of town people flock to it then we have a serious problem.
A crime is taking place there every weekend.

Hey maybe they should sell drugs there too. Your line of thinking will approve that as well.

Typical Derry mentality.
I was here before Grandview, eletricity or the Pilgrims. Think about it Humpy, yes you can drive the opposite way or maybe you would rather Grandview go out of business and be a public eyesore so you can save the 3 light cycles.
Best regards

Are you serious? In todays economy being what it is and you are complaining? Are you complaining about Clam Haven and the smell of the fried food? How about the trailer park? You were ther before them too right? And when Fairbanks spends our money to take the sewer up 28 what then?
Maybe you are just another ancient Derry reactionary dead-ender. I hope Santa brings you some new smokes and a case of grog and maybe 1950 will come back to you in the new year!

Massachusetts is looking pretty good right now as Derry baby boomer's contemplate our next move before our kids go off to college soon! Change recently came to the political landscape in Massachusetts and change had better come soon to the burdened taxpayers in southern NH or we are up and moving elsewhere where it's affordable! Pray Rep. Letourneau can pass this legislation so we don't lose $7M in state aid for education!
See story==> http://bit.ly/7O1z7U
You see, us baby boomer's are different than our parents. Years ago, they'd pack up the car and go to the beach; these days we hop on a plane and travel anywhere. Our parents lived in the same house till they died; unfortunately, those of us living in Derry, whose last child is about to go off to college, are more mobile and everyone I know in this situation is talking about where we can afford to live after the kids leave the nest soon. I've lived here for 22 years, but I have to be honest with you - I'm not sure if I can afford to stay here! Developers in northern Massachusetts and the Merrimack Valley understand this as they begin to develop over-55 communities in city's and towns like Haverhill, Methuen (Merrimack Valley Golf Course, places where we grew up and will probably return if property taxes continue to rise. Recently local developer, Michael Maroney purchased Atkinson Golf Course (it's actually in Haverhill, MA) and announced that he will begin phase one of an over-55 community, including improvements to the 18-hole golf course. Maroney stated "there's a market for this kind of product, people we are talking to have larger homes and want to downsize and have their lawns and snow removal taken care of".
Who do you think will purchase the homes we put on the market? - other young couples, like ourselves, 22 years ago, with 2.5 children. And like the 1980's the new residents will overburden the town and school infrastructure. And what about the poor senior citizens who can't afford to move; how will they ever afford to live and stay here?
Derry legislatures and the Derry Town Council - PLEASE figure out a way so that us baby-boomer's can stay and enjoy our retirement years where our kids grew up - this wonderful place that Robert Frost loved so much and called home!

Derry needs to go to re-hab for its spending addiction.
Then, and only then will you be able to retire in Derry.

Can anyone tell me how to get involved in property tax meetings? My taxes went up to 23,000.00/year this year. I am very frustrated. I don't use the schools, I don't have a paved road, I don't have trash pick up or street lights. What the heck am I paying so much money for?

You are paying for the right to say, "I live in Derry"

Many can not say that because after their kids graduated, they moved away and stuck us with their school and other frivolous bills.
