Poll Results are in.

For the latest poll results the question asked was
Do you believe the town needs an animal control ordinance?

The voting went this way

yes=22

no=19

not sure=5

This was a very close one. It seems to me that by looking at this vote, some requirments may be needed however the less government restrictions the better. It sends a clear message that it must be well thought out and make sense.

your thoughts?

BC...you write "It sends a clear message that it must be well thought out and make sense."

Isn't this a requirement of all government activity, close vote or not? Does this explain Derry's political past, i.e. council majority equals shoddy execution? In a perverse way it kind of makes sense and explains much. Short term gain over long term impacts...at least things are improving as things have caught up with some key players that have presided over the mess that is now being cleaned up.

anon 6:38,
yes you are correct. It should be a requirement of all government activity. However political decisions will never be agreed upon 100%. There will always be citizens who are not happy for any particular reasons and there will be people who never trust any government decision.
As far as the past.. The past is the past- can't change it. It's all about the future and what we can accomplish. Thats why we elect our councilors. We put faith in that they will help guide the town to prosper, lower taxes, make the town a great place to live. Hopefully!
